Lowlights and Footnotes

Steve McCormick instantly hits the bullseye on a cool country rock track, intuitive of the UK country scene, Another English Cowboy, for those of us on the other side of the fence! Moody, yet invitingly dark, If Only She Were Lying smooths to a relationship requiem, Making Light (Of Being Kept In The Dark). Just love the high octane I'm Alright, Jack, before sliding down the gears with a raw and mesmerising Back On The Booze. Living In Loserville is truly an anthem for the outsider, hollering out with a rhythmic driving beat.

Lowlights and Footnotes is a daring, dynamic album that folds and involves what's so good about country music. Steve injects grit, energy and is voice and songwriting prowess puts me in mind of a country music Kurt Cobain because of the raw intensity he delivers through his songs.

Album of the month.
